God is Bigger!

I find myself saying that a lot lately.  "God is bigger!"  My family isn't the only family having faced and facing such difficult circumstances like we have recently (and over the last five years) in regard to Micah's health.  Even in the last several weeks, this has been my encouragement and counsel to others facing such desperate times of needing God to work.

Today was a day where God again reminded me that He is bigger.  Just 48 hours ago, we expected to be heading home.  Two episodes of vomiting blood, an endoscopy, a CT Scan, a collapsed lung, a vascular radiology procedure, and another trip to the OR opening Micah up later. . . .and I'm sitting next to Micah's bed in the PICU knowing God is bigger.

Surgery went well today.  The clot in the splenal vein shunt was cleared and flow in the vein/shunt was flowing well.  Micah remains sedated through the night on the breathing tube because tomorrow the vascular radiologist will seek to go in to cauterize two large collateral vessels that seem to be diverting blood from the spleen from going through the new passage of the vein/shunt.  The reduced volume of blood flow may have been the reason the clot formed.

God is bigger!  He's bigger than my fears, my worries, and my problems.  He's bigger than doctors, nurses, and health problems.  He's bigger!  Because He's bigger, I can take courage and hope knowing nothing is impossible with him.

Sending Micah into the OR today unexpectedly was, to say the least, difficult.  Yet we did so knowing God is bigger.  Grateful again for those who carried Micah to the throne of God in prayer knowing our God is bigger than what he faced today.
