San Francisco Bay Mission Team Testimony - Hannah O' Conner, Lydia Rooth, Corey Freeman, Jacob O' Conner & Jacob Sampson

Coming on this trip has been an awesome and very eye opening opportunity. We have been able to share God's love in many unique and fun ways. We have passed out water bottles, tracks, and Bibles in Afghan languages. We have also had the opportunity to go into many Afghan homes and see how hospitable and kind they are. Also, they are very open about their Islamic faith and culture. It has really challenged me to try to be more open with my own faith to complete strangers, like they have for us. I continue to look forward to how God continues to move and bless all of our lives. And, of course, it has been a lot of fun! (:

Ok, so...... you are seriously missing out if you didn't come on this trip!! It has been so much fun, and I've learned so much! I've really enjoyed learning about the Afghan culture and Islam religion. I especially enjoyed being able to go into the Afghan houses and meet their families. It surprised me how inviting they are even though they know we have different cultures and religions. I thought they would not want to be around us, but they really do. I can tell that they are not ashamed of being Afghan and Muslim. They really enjoy telling us about their culture and religion. And, yeah....... that's all i got. So..... the advice I've got for someone who kinda wants to go on a mission trip is, GO ON THE MISSION TRIP!!!!! ITS SOOOOOOOO MUCH FUN!!!!

Hey this is jacob o'conner. I went on the san francisco mission trip. This has been a very fun trip and a great experience. I got to see the west coast and get to talk to people about Jesus. I was moved by Osman's house and how they allowed us into their home and how they opened up to us and hew they allowed us to talk to them openly about our religion. I was also moved by the people at the Page Street Center. Some of the people had very little money or were stuck on the streets and they still were cracking jokes and helping each other out and having a good time. They were very nice people. I was also surprised about how at Oshman they openly displayed their religion and it was fun to get to ball it up in a couple pick up games of basketball and I hoped that we were able to display Jesus' love to them and their family. And it was cool to visit the Cique and Buddhist temples. Even though they are very different religions from Christianity they were very cool places. It was really cool at the Sikh temple because you were allowed to have a free meal for breakfast lunch and dinner. Also you were allowed to sleep at the temple. I have had a very fun trip in san francisco and i hope that we were able to display God's love in the people that we meant.

There have been so many opportunities on this trip its been awesome. On Sunday I got to help out with a vbs at a church and play the part of Peter. I did the part for about 8 kids from the grades 3rd to 6th. After I did the part I had some free time so I asked if the kids had questions about anything. They asked me different questions about North Carolina and about Jesus. I was very surprised because they didn't know as much as I thought they would......... actually they knew basically nothing! I got to share about Jesus with these kids and how he has soooo much love for us that he came down to this earth and died on the cross for every single one of us! the kids were very interested and at the end I got to pray for them. I pray that God moves in there lives and that you will prey for that classroom of kids. This trip has had so many opportunities i cant wait to share them all with you!!!!!

Through the duration of this trip I was able to learn a lot. This is a great experience that i think every Christan should experience. It helps us all understand what the people of this time and country and other countries believe and do. It also helps us to be less prejudice to others that we think we know so well. I am grateful for this experience and hope to do it again.
