I came on this trip without many expectations, however, I have been shocked everyday so far by what I have seen God doing. We have spent a good amount of time with the Afghans here, and I have really enjoyed getting to know them. I have seen how welcoming they are, and how proud of their culture they are and that has really encouraged me to be less judgmental of the new people I meet. I have also really enjoyed meeting other people here in Fremont as well. God has provided me with some great conversations with people in the park. One conversation in particular with a man named Chip stood out to me. After offering him some water, he began asking us about what we were doing here and a few other things. While answering the questions, we had the chance to share some of our testimonies, and I really feel like their were some great seeds planted for the Lord. Please pray for chip and his wife Heather, who is currently undergoing treatment for cancer.

During the past couple of days I have learned a lot about the afghan culture and how different we are but how a like we are at the same time. I have gotten to spend a lot of time with a couple of different families and realized that we should love some because of their belief. I came on this mission trip not knowing what to expect, but I am blown away about how much their family loves and cares about each other so much and how they are so welcoming to people that they have never met. I hope to bring this back to Raleigh with me. Also today, we went around to different stores and started asking questions about the afghan culture and my group got to talk to Omar. This was exciting because not only we got to show God's love to someone, but he brought up God before we got a chance to and although I may not believe the same things that he does I feel that today we got him asking some questions.
