????????

Life around our house can be about like a West Virginia road (no offense to you Mountaineers). A lot of twists and turns, sometimes altogether unexpected and unanticipated, creep up on us when everything seemed to be running and riding so smooth. Such are the events of the last 4 days.

On Thursday night, Micah began vomiting and having diarrhea. Fearing dehydration, I took him to the Emergency Department for fluids, blood tests, etc. to get the jump on the things. There was no fever, just the other two lovely companions. We stayed all night but Micah seemed to be better Friday morning and so we were discharged.

The rest of Friday, all day Saturday and all day Sunday were great. We enjoyed the Spring Festival hosted by our church as a family on Saturday, as well as enjoyed Easter together on Sunday. Micah did great. I cannot report the number of times on Sunday morning that individuals commented on "how good he look[ed]." Then Sunday night arrived. As happened on Thursday night, the vomiting and diarrhea began again. No fever. Just those two.

We were already scheduled for a clinic visit this morning which we made as scheduled. The labs revealed Micah was drier than he needed to be. But Dr. Berman was more concerned that this thing (whatever it is) isn't just a normal or typical bug (virus, infection, etc.). His concern is that something could be going on with the bowels either related to surgery or completely coincidental in timing with his recent surgery. All that to say, they are in the process of trying to determine what it is that is going on. This evening Micah not only had more vomiting and diarrhea, but he also had a good bit of pain apparently in his abdomen area.

After abdominal x-rays and two ultrasounds, we still pray for wisdom and answers. Currently, there are none.

More x-rays, a possible CT Scan and additional tests are the plan for tomorrow. For now he is getting fluids since nothing stays down. Our hope had been for a one night hospital stay. I doubt that will be the case.

PLEASE pray for Micah (healing, peace and comfort). Pray for the doctors (wisdom to know the problem and skill to remedy it easily). Pray for our family (Sarah who is staying there tonight and tomorrow, Isaac and Ethan who are once again thrown into the agitation cycle, for all of us as a whole who were so eager to try to reclaim normalcy and begin to move forward beyond the muck and mire of so much that the last two years have contained).

Praying for your family Justin. It was so sweet to see you carrying Micah around at the Easter egg hunt on Saturday. Our hearts ache for your family and long for your family to be able to return to that normalcy that we all crave. We will be praying a new for Micah today.
In Christ,
Becky

My heart is broken with news that Micah is back in the hospital. I am praying!! I can only imagine the plans God has for you and your family because we believe that He does work all things for the good of His people. I will pray for the peace and rest only He can provide in the storm.
Love in Christ,
Beth (Luke's Mom)

Hang in there, Justin! God has a plan!!! When he closes a door he opens a window - but usually not right away!!! I believe that God knows when we're tired and lets us catch our breath. I can't imagine how difficult this is for you and Sarah and the boys - I pray everyday that our Lord will give your family the strength it needs to walk through this and that he gives the doctors the knowledge they need to treat Micah. You are ALL ALWAYS in my prayers and in my thoughts.....Beth (your Mom's friend)...
