12 "Now I want you to know, brethren, that my
circumstances have turned out for the greater progress of
the gospel, 13 so that my imprisonment in the cause
of Christ has become well known throughout the whole praetorian
guard and to everyone else,14 and that most of
the brethren, trusting in the Lord because of my imprisonment,
have far more courage to speak the word of God without fear."
(Philippians 1:12-14)
- Give thanks that the circumstances of our lives never catch God by surprise.
- Celebrate how God uses the circumstances of our lives, albeit painful and difficult, for our good and His glory by the advancement of the gospel.
- Ask God to use your pain and difficulties of the past and your present circumstances for the fame of His name and the progress of the gospel.
- Lift in prayer those believers imprisoned to have Christ's strength and courage to proclaim the good news of the kingdom in spite of their circumstances.
- Petition God for the families of imprisoned brothers and sisters in the world
- Plead for God to use us, individually and as Refuge Church, to display and declare the good news of Christ's kingdom full of courage and empty of fear.
"Circumstances may appear to wreck our lives
and God's plans, but God is not helpless among the ruins. God's love is still
working. He comes in and takes the calamity and uses it victoriously, working
out His wonderful plan of love."
Eric Liddell
