Happy New Year! I trust your celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior was indeed filled with joy. Now as we begin a new year, the resolutions have been or are being made. Here are some common New Year's Resolutions:
- I resolve to exercise and lose weight.
- I resolve to work less and spend more time with family.
- I resolve to get out of debt.
- I resolve to take the vacation trip I've wanted for years.
- I resolve to read the Bible from cover to cover.
About 40% of Americans make one or more New Year's resolutions. What have you resolved in 2013? There exists an endless list of resolutions that can be made. What will you resolve to do in 2013?
What will you resolve to do for the glory of God in 2013?
A follower of Jesus Christ once said, "Wherever you are, be all there. Live every moment to the hilt that you believe to be the will of God for your life."
What if we resolved to be all there? What if we resolved to give all to the One who gave all for us? What if we resolved to live seize the hours of every day like there was no tomorrow coming?
We may dream of being somewhere else. We may want to be somewhere else. We may desire a different set of circumstances, a different life. But for reasons we may not fully comprehend, the Sovereign God has chosen for us to be here and now for the glory of God.
What resolutions would God have you make to live every graciously given moment of 2013 for the glory of God?
Your resolution may involve letting go or taking up!
May our resolutions in 2013 lead us to love God more, love others more, and reach the world more.
