Micah received clearance to go home today. Isaac, Ethan, and I arrived at Duke at around 12:45 PM to bring Sarah and Micah home. Here's the quick update.
Micah continues to be visibly well, though not totally himself. He was diagnosed with the parvovirus. This can last up to three weeks in immune-suppressed children.
He is also beginning a blood pressure medicine to reduce the blood pressure in the liver due to the portal vein thrombosis (clotting). We do not yet know whether the doctors will want to try and treat this with medication for the foreseeable future or if another action will be recommended.
Beyond this, we do not have any further results or information. There is still no definitive answer to why he vomited blood like he did on Monday.
To all of you who prayed so faithfully and fervently for him and our family, words cannot express our gratitude. Thank you for the notes, the visits and the prayers. Our God is great. He has done great things for us. Psalm 126
