Friday morning I was at work when Sarah called. Micah had another fever. There are two kinds of fever. The "Not so bad - We can take some Tylenol and wait" fever and the "Big Bad Ugly - Gotta go to Duke" fever. Micah hit the second one unfortunately. With that said, Micah was able to come home on Friday after getting some labs done, a chest x-ray and being examined by Dr. Berman. So the streak continues. We are currently enjoying the longest run of being home without having any hospitalizations.
They did start Micah on one oral antibiotic and one antibiotic by his central line. The chest x-ray from Friday showed more consolidation of stuff in Micah's lungs. So while it isn't completely certain what the nature of his ailment is, there is speculation that Micah may have either a virus or some type of pneumonia.
He seems to be feeling some better today, but not quite himself. He will go back on Monday morning to have various labs done again and to see his progress with whatever he's battling.
At this moment, we are just grateful he's still home and doing well. Hopefully his body will fight off whatever it is or the medicines he is taking will knock it out.
But the streak continues...Praise the Lord!

Hi! It feels like forever since we have seen you all up at Duke. Although we enjoy seeing you, it's also nice that we haven't seen you up at Duke, if you know what I mean. :) I am so glad that Micah is doing well, despite this little bump in the road. I know you are so happy to have him home. Maybe we will see you soon at Duke, but for a well visit and not anything else. :) Take care and Josh says hi to Micah! --Kim, Jeff, Elliot and Joshua Ray
