"Like apples of gold in settings of silver is a word spoken in right circumstances" (Proverbs 25:11).
April 26 was the one year mark of Micah's first surgery (the Kasai procedure). What a year it has been! The ups and downs; the elation and discouragement; the miracles of God and the perceived silence of God. But it has been over a year now since we learned of Micah's liver disease and began down this road of sickness and surgery, healing and health.
Throughout this past year, there have been so many individuals who have fulfilled the wisdom and truth of Proverbs 25:11 in the heart and lives of our family. Not just Sarah and me. I mean our entire family. Each time a comment is posted on this blog, I read it. There have been many days where the post I read could not have been spoken at a better time, a more perfect moment. While I realize that is the working of a great and gracious God, it is also the prompt obedience of His people to the leading of His Spirit.
Thank you for the timely words. Thank you for your words of encouraging and truth! I certainly appreciate each of you and your words.
This day has held the same for Micah and our family. More waiting and more minutes of uncertainty regarding a plan for proceeding forward. Micah is still on the ventilator. Later this afternoon we were told they would attempt to take him off tomorrow. For now, he remains in the PICU. He is sedated still and intubated.
Some of the difficulty relates back to his ability to breathe on his own; the fluid putting pressure on his lungs; and the fluid/secretions that have been in his lungs. However, we continue to hope and pray for Micah to come off the ventilator tomorrow and begin to make the transition to the 5300 floor and then home (and soon). In the meantime, we wait as patiently as possible. And we watch to see the Lord at work. Thank you for praying!

Just stopping in to say that I continue to read your blog daily and our family has your entire family and Micah in our prayers. Your strength in this situation is so amazing and such an encouragement to me in my life. I know that we serve an awesome God and that He is in control of everything. I also know that in spite of that our human side tends to take over some times. So I pray that when those times come that God will give you peace and comfort. And I pray that He will continue to use your family in this situation as has already been evidenced.
