"My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress. I will never be shaken." Psalm 62:1-2
As I write these words, both Justin and Micah are resting peacefully in their hospital beds. The last several days have not all been like that. Up until last night, Justin has been in great pain. He has had several episodes of nausea and his incision area has bled requiring many more stitches. He also had two full nights with very little sleep. All of these conditions have provided a not so favorable situation for receiving visitors. The doctors and nurses were finally able to regulate his pain last night. Justin is feeling up to having visitors today and would love to see some friendly faces.
Micah is doing well today. The doctors were able to remove his breathing tube last night and his arterial line today. He is no longer on any anesthesia and he is content with less and less pain medication. It looks as though his new liver is functioning well. The doctors continue to monitor him and look for any signs of rejection. He might be moving into the step down unit today which is an encouraging sign. His color is also becoming lighter. He no longer looks like a bright yellow banana, but a pale shade of yellow. His eyes are looking whiter and whiter. My mom commented yesterday that she felt like we are watching a miracle take place. We know that our great God is working a miracle in Micah's life. Thank you for praying for a miracle for Micah.
We appreciate all of the prayers on Micah's and Justin's behalf. We have been so overwhelmed by the outpouring of love we've seen in such physical ways. It was such an encouragement to me on Friday to see so many familiar faces in the waiting area while Justin and Micah were in surgery. Thank you for all of the food that has been brought to both our home and the hospital. You are not only ministering to our stomachs, but also our hearts. We are so humbled by all of the love and support we have received from all of you.

I've been praying for you folks. I went to h.s. with Justin (I graduated 1995) and remember hearing with much joy his boldness for Christ when he was able to address his senior class. K. Walsworth told me the other day about what's been going on with this surgery. Will continue to remember you all!
